SimPath combines two proprietary Oak Ridge National Laboratory technologies to create and improve assembly method to provide a DNA synthesis service that is more time and cost efficient than present day DNA synthesis techniques. The technologies allow for the creation of a universal library of interchangeable genetic sequences, or ‘parts,’ that allow for the easy, modular, efficient creation of genetic designs. Every part made is incorporated into a library and customers can pick and assemble any parts needed. Synthesis of parts isn’t required if the parts are in the library; only assembly. Additionally customers can license sequences to work with separately in labs, as well as buy the assembly kit.
